Just like sakot uwi, uwi pilodos is also the most common rattan and its seeds are dispersed by birds. The differences are, pilodos grows in clumps, has a slightly thicker skin, rarely spins, and does not need to be washed before being processed into woven. This rattan is most often used for pa'an (horizontal section) of woven.
